![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What's Wrong With Being Single? - Maryam Jorjani - Being single or facing divorce, separation or widowhood doesn't mean unhappiness. This book draws on many statistics and richly detailed case studies that the author says proves that society's pressures and misconceptions of togetherness drive many to get married. Maryam's conclusion: living the single lifestyle, free and independent, may just be the best prescription for what ails America. Larry's Review: - I agree. There is nothing wrong with being single, however one of the most basic needs is love and companionship. Maryam takes a stand for being single instead of marriage and hardly recognizes the basic differences between men and women. While I may not agree with all of her book, it's an interesting point of view and worthy of reading. ![]() Self-Love: The Crown Jewel - Mimi Chevalier Shannon - This book presents a new paradigm for self-acceptance. While the culture measures our value by outside opinion, self-love brings it back to home base and at our own discretion; through this repositioning comes the freedom of self-determination and the joy of living in integrity with self. Larry's Review: - A wonderful book; one that leads us on a path of self-acceptance and love. Mimi's journey is told with stories and dialogue with her collaborator, Rebecca Emily Smith. Highly Recommended. ![]() For Those Who Love Time is Eternal - Cathyann Fisher - This book documents recovery from marriage, divorce, falling in love, being dumped and all the travail in maintaining a relationship. An honest look at the hopes, doubts, triumphs, and defeats of relationships. Learn how to walk through love's less-than-perfect moments. Larry's Review: - I smiled as I read this book. I recognized it's truth. Once, I felt a tear on my cheek as I remembered past hurts that have healed. Reflection is good and I am grateful for lessons learned. Thanks, Cathyann. ![]() Light in the Darkness: A Guide to Recovery - St. George Lee, M.D. - A physician talks openly about his addiction to sex. He lived a double life. Most knew him as a respected cardiologist, church leader, and apparently devoted family man. There was a darker side. This book is an inspiring, personal and candid account of recovery that shows the amazing effects of faith, perseverance and love. Larry's Review: - Sex addiction is a powerful addiction; one very difficult to break through. This candid story offers hope and inspiration to others affected by addictive behaviors of any kind.
