Larry James & Guy Finley at "Talks in the Pines," June 23-27, 2004

The annual "Talks in the Pines" at the Life of Learning Foundation is snuggled in the hills of southern Oregon among the tall pines in the quiet and peaceful town of Merlin.

Life of Learning Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by Guy finley. Its foremost purpose is to help individuals realize their True Relationship with Life through higher self-studies. For over 25 years, author and self-realization teacher, Guy Finley, has been showing individuals the Way to a life of freedom, enduring fulfillment, and true purpose.

This beautiful self-learning center is nestled in the pines and houses the offices for a staff of student volunteers, a book store and library, an audio/visual center, kitchen facilities and spacious auditorium where Guy Finley teaches several times each week. There are meditation areas located among groves of old-growth Sugar Pine. The Annual "Talks in the Pines" is held here each June.

Class is about to begin. Students from all over the USA and the world, including Canada, Spain, and more gathered to hear the teachings of Guy Finley.

During five life-changing days, highlighted by nine in-person meetings with Guy Finley, one of the highlights was this outdoor event among the Sugar Pines!

Each talk featured two key lessons. "The only way to know for sure whether Life is inherently good or not is to never again let some pressure-filled fear convience us that without its guidance something bad will surely befall us. On the second day we met at the Foundation for a caravan to the river. One of Guy's talks was in the restful serenity of a park near the banks of the Rouge River. In the background is where some adventurous souls played several games of volley ball.

After Guy's talk in the park, we enjoyed a delicious cook-out with barbequed chicken and all the trimmings. Yum, yum!

Volley ball and an abbreviated version of golf were activities that helped burn off the calories from our scrumptous picnic!

This was one of the break-out discussion groups on the grounds behind the Foundation building where we discussed some of the key lessons presented by Guy.
